According to supernatural investigators, technically a haunted hotel is a building for a vacation or rest as being lived by supernatural spirits of the deceased persons who may have been the former residents or part with the property. Believe it or not, there are many more haunted places in the USA than you’ve ever imagined, including popular hotels and resorts which had an important role in US history.

This 10th scariest hotel was once the largest ship in the world and was used in World War II history. It was built by John Brown and Company Ltd in Scotland and set its first sail on May 27th of 1936. The ship was so large about 1019.5 feet long and could carry a crew of 1,200 and 2000 passengers on transatlantic voyages during that time. There was an accident happened on July 10th of 1966 when one young man was working near watertight door number 13. He fell as the watertight door was closing and crushed to death. Certain witness and tourists saw a young man in blue overalls walking around the engine compartments and suddenly disappeared near watertight door number 13.
The 9th most haunted hotel is one of the historic landmarks and nowadays lots of shopping malls, great restaurants, and entertainment facilities near in Ramada Plaza hotel. Like other haunted places, the hotel had its own unique paranormal history. The hotel had a basement before but used as underground tunnels by Chicagos criminals to make their escapes. The building was refitted as a hospital then turned to nursing home. There were records about dying patients during that time before being renovated again to a hotel. The Crescent was leased as a summer hotel in 1937 and got a new owner named Norman Baker who was an inventor and did some research about cures on illness such as cancer. Mr. Baker moved his patients to Crescent hotel and advertised a health resort. The most elegant Recreation Room is always haunted by the ghost of Mr. Norman Baker, mysterious nurse, and patient in white cloth who vanish always near Room 419 of Recreation area. This place is near the spring water. The spring water was once the place where Mr. Baker brought his cancer patients and allowed to drink the miracle water to cure their illness.
The 7th haunted one is the hotel that features elegant decors and the lodge has a unique style inspired by the beauty of the Adirondack Mountains. Some tourists experienced some paranormal activity in some renovated area of the hotel. On the golf course there is a little boy often seen that area and sudden vanish. They believed that boy worked in collecting golf balls for the pro shop during 1950s.The history record showed that the child was hit by a car and killed. In a restaurant named Mr. Brown, a cook saw a blonde woman in white evening gown inside the restaurant spoken to him and walked straight through before it vanished. Employees work in a Trillium restaurant always seen a couple who are reported to be the first guests and were reluctant to leave. Their apparition are said to descend down the stairs, sit in the reception area, and disappear.
The 6th haunted hotel is known for its fancy, elegant, and old time style. It has an architectural Southern plantation with Georgian features. The most popular paranormal spot inside the hotel is the Room number 242. This is the place lived by a man named Dr. William Jacocks. He lived there for 20 years until his death in 1965. He was known to be a friendly and kind man with a sense of humor. Lots of guests who stayed in his room reported they encountered locking them out inside the room. A situation came one time after some guest tried several attempts to unlock the door and had to be removed from its hinges. Though with modern facilities and electronic doors, there have still some reports of the door refusing to open. They believe the joyful spirit of Dr. Jacocks seems to have stayed in his room.
The 5th place is the hotel known for its rooms that end in number 03 have its own mysterious happenings. The Room Number 703 is the popular hot spot of ghost appearance. Some guest staff worked in that room reported paranormal activities such as cold spot area, moving objects, distorted face, and dark cloud suddenly disappear.
The 4th most haunted place is known to be as The Belle of New Orleans for its elegance, crystal chandeliers, unique traditions, and historic antiques. Some guests reported about weird cases such as strange noises and ghost apparition at the foot of their bed inside the room. One guest visited in the hotel for a medical convention, saw the apparition of an old gray haired woman in black dress sit on the side of his bed. He felt the weight of her body on the bed and cold dead hands stroking his head.
The 3rd haunted hotel is now a popular spot for weddings and receptions. It was built in 1909 and owned by couple named F.O. and Flora Stanley. This is the place where the author named Mr. Stephen King inspired to write the The Shining where he stayed at Room number 217. The most haunted spot is the Room number 408 where reported hearing children playing and laughing outside the door. Some guests and employees seen the ghost of Mrs. Flora playing piano and very visibly at night. The whole fourth floor known as servant quarters is active in paranormal activities such as toilets flushing, appearance of ghostly hands in the mirror, and creepy voices.

The most popular hot spot is the room 3312 where the young woman named Ms. Kate Morgan stayed in the room. She found dead and thought to be self inflicted gun-shot on her wound. The room 3312 has ghostly activities like strange scents, phone ringing but the line is dead, and flickering lights.
The top of the 10 most haunted hotels in USA is the Provincial Hotel in New Orleans. It is known for its elegant antique furnishings and charming courtyard. This was once a hospital for Confederate soldiers. The ghost of the soldiers and doctors in white dress is always seen wandering in corridors or guestrooms. Moans and crying voices are heard through the complex of the hotel. Some have seen a ghostly appearance of child, woman, and man reported to be as one of the patients when this building once a hospital.
